I got up early (ON A SATURDAY) to get to my comic shop before it opened, so I had a better chance at getting all the comics I wanted. The only one I really wanted was the Marvel Infinity by Hickman and Cheung. My collector mentality side took over and needed for the sake of keeping my Hickmen Avengers run complete. Also, a free comic by two of the biggest creators at Marvel? Yes please.
Pictured below are the rest of the titles I got. Pretty much the ones you’d expect. Really happy that I got Atomic Robo for free this year, as previous years I’ve had to pay 99p for it (which I hate doing ‘cause it kind of defeats the point).

And then we went from Liverpool to Manchester, because that seemed like a good idea when my brother suggested it, to go to a comic book fair (which is basically a stuffy room full of long boxes with back issues and smelly people). I was looking for Young Avengers Presents: Hawkeye, but I couldn’t find it, which made me a little sad. I only found out a few months ago (via tumblr, funnily enough) that Fraction wrote a one shot featuring the Hawkeyes a few years ago. I’ll have to keep an eye out for it on ebay.
I did get something I didn’t plan on buying though: Warren Ellis’s New Universal mini in hardcover. I’ve been curious to read it, with Hickman using a lot of stuff from it in his current Avengers run, so when I saw it I decided to go for it. Warren Ellis impulse buy. I also picked up I Am An Avenger #2 purely for the Greg Rucka and Michael Lark short, Who Won’t Wield the Shield which is a parody comic that was released when Steve Rogers returned and Young Avengers Presents: Hulkling, to help me get over my lack of Hawkeye.

And then, of course, this weeks comics.

This marks the last of my spending for a while. Because money is going to be tight over the next few months. But at least I’ll have plenty of stuff to read when I’m too broke to go out.
